SignPost Psalm 25:1-10 Thursday to Sunday, Week 1—Indianapolis

A group of my aunts and uncles were leaving Kenosha, Wisconsin, for a family reunion in Iowa. As they left town, they started talking about the fun they were going to have just like they had had there as kids. As they entered the toll road interchanges in Chicago, they laughed about how easy it could be to go the wrong direction. In a short while, someone said, “Didn’t that sign say Indiana Toll Road?”

My uncle assured everyone that he had everything under control, and the conversations continued. About twenty minutes later, someone else said, “Look at that. The sign says we’re less than 180 miles from Indianapolis.”

Someone else said, “Indianapolis? We should be seeing signs for Peoria!” It was with a certain chagrin that my uncle admitted that he had taken a wrong turn and they were headed in the wrong direction.

It is important to notice the landmarks around us and pay attention to the road signs so that we end up in the right place. Now is a good time to remember that our way is to the cross and the empty tomb. It would be tough to get turned around at this early time.

Prayer
Lord, we know that you are the way, the truth and light. Shine your light on our way that we might know your leading in our lives. Amen
